How to Choose an LED Scrolling Sign for Your Shop
An LED scrolling sign is one of the simplest ways to get passers-by to notice your shop. But with different sizes, colours and indoor and outdoor options, it can be hard to know which one to pick. This guide walks you through the main choices so you get the right sign first time.
1. Where will the sign go?
Inside a shop window. Most of our customers hang their sign just inside the front window, facing the street. Our LED Scrolling Sign is bright enough to read in daylight and comes with hanging and wall brackets.

2. Choosing the right size
Our indoor scrolling signs come in five lengths – 67cm, 99cm, 131cm, 163cm and 195cm – with heights from 19cm up to 83cm.
- Length decides how many letters show at once. A longer sign shows more of your message without it having to scroll as much.
- Height decides how big the text is. Taller signs have larger letters that can be read from further away – useful if your shop is set back from the road or on a busy street.
Tip: measure the space in your window before ordering, and leave a little room around the sign so it doesn't look cramped.
3. Choosing a text colour
Indoor signs are available with red, yellow, white or green text. Our outdoor and large signs also come in a multi-colour option. Pick a colour that stands out against your shop front and fits your branding.
4. How you change the message
All our signs are programmed from a free phone app (Apple or Android). You can:
- type a new message in seconds – opening hours, today's offers, a welcome message
- choose different scrolling and animation styles
- use any language, and even emojis
There's no computer or technical setup needed. That's why these signs are also known as programmable LED signs, LED ticker signs or electronic message boards – they all describe the same idea.

6. Delivery and installation

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between an LED ticker sign and a scrolling sign?
Nothing – they're two names for the same thing. "Ticker" comes from the scrolling stock-price displays it resembles.
Can I use an indoor sign outside?
Our LED Scrolling Sign is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. For a sign mounted permanently outside and seen from both directions, choose the double-sided outdoor sign.
Can I change the message every day?
